Poland, Zlotowek, 2016

Libera lived at Edyta von B.'s estate in Zlotowek from April to June 2016. He helped organize and transfer the archives of the Socialist Party of the United States of America (SPUSA) to the US Embassy. Libera met Edith von B. in the late 1990s in New York, at the Chelsea Hotel. Libera lived in the loft of a gallerist and art collector. Edyta von B. occupied the loft across the street. Edyta von B. was known to New York bohemians for her socialist speeches, her collection of paintings by Mela Muter and her relationship with Alex Shachtman, son of Max Shachtman, whose thought was the foundation for SPUSA. The photograph of Edyta von B., taken by Libera, is the only surviving image from her stay in Poland in the second decade of the 21st century. Edyta von B. passed away in 2018. The family estate was passed on to SPUSA.
